We've decided not to get a car while we're in Abu Dhabi. The bus system is pretty good here, so that's how we usually get around. Bus 44 is the one we take most often. It takes me to work and back everyday, and it takes us to church on Fridays. All of the busses are new, clean, and air conditioned. Also, ladies get preferential seating on the bus. No men allowed in the first 12 seats. This is especially nice for me during rush hour. There are always lots of smelly men on the bus, but they're always in the back and I'm always in the front..

Also, the busses are really cheap here. It only costs 1 dirham per bus ride, which is a little less than 30 cents. Or you can buy a month pass Ojra card for 40 dirhams, which is a little less than $11 for unlimited access.

If we need to go somewhere that we can't take a bus, or if we're too lazy to wait for one, we can take a cab. Cabs are everywhere, and they're really cheap. Also, if you want, you can take a ladies only cab. The picture below is a ladies cab. They have pink signs on top and pink flowers on the back.
Love this!! So proud of you! [i'm feeling the pressure of needing to buy a car here b/c al ain is sooo spread out! but, we do have buses...it just seems that everyone that does have cars-have never dared to try the system] YAY!
